The Chinese multinational company, Xiaomi, is all set to launch the Mi 11 Flagship in a few days. As per the announcement made by Xiaomi, at the Qualcomm event earlier this month, it is going to be the world’s first-ever Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone. As the launch date is confirmed to be 28th December 2020, some fascinating disclosures are unveiling at the last minute.
A recently surfaced online video has made the headlines. The video indirectly suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 11 will have a dedicated night mode feature to help shoot quality videos even in low light. This video was posted by Xiaomi as a Christmas greeting to its customers, but as it turns out, it certainly was a lot more than that.
The video posted by Xiaomi on Sina Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website), shows a music box placed in the dark. Further, into the video, some light-adjusting allows us to see the Christmas-themed box. This video is supposed to have been shot by the Mi 11, indicating that the night mode feature is something to look out for.
Today, there are numerous smartphones available in the market that have a special low-light video recording feature. However, this is going to one of the first times when a smartphone has a dedicated night mode for video recording. A similar feature was seen on the Oppo Find X2 last.
For the Mi Flagship, it is believed that Xiaomi will be using computational photography for the cameras. The processing will be supported by the brand new Snapdragon 888 chipset, which was unveiled recently by the company. This chipset uses a 5-nanometre technology, making it the second most advanced chipset after the Apple A14 Bionic.
The dedicated night mode feature would basically take in more light than what one would normally see in the viewfinder, while the video is being recorded. Despite having similarities with the Opps Find X2 Pro’s UltraNight mode feature, it is believed that the Mi 11 will be slightly different.
The look of the Mi 11 has already been finalized, and it is said to have a rather interesting design. Sources reveal that this design is something customers would have never seen on flagships before. According to leaked renders, here are some of the notable features of the Mi 11-
- The smartphone will have 4 colorways.
- Up to 12 GB of RAM, run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor under the hood, with a maximum clock speed of 2.84 GHz.
- Dual-curved display, along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus screen protection.
- QHD+ display resolution, which is nearly three times 1080p.
- A 120Hz refresh rate.
The top-of-the-line specifications of Mi 11 have made it the talk of the town. Although these specifications have not been fully confirmed by Xiaomi as yet, many believe the rumor mill might be correct. Xiaomi is set to launch the Mi 11 on December 28th in China. However, the company has not yet spoken on when the device will be available in other markets, including India.
